Destiny Reveals 6 Taken King Exotics

Steeper Simulant weapon from Destiny

As Destiny enters Year 2 Bungie is set to release the game’s latest and largest expansion – The Taken King. The game’s fundamental mechanics and loot system will be revamped along with several other tweaks as developers focus on the painful narrative that players have grown to ignore.  Fortunately, it seems that Bungie has listened to fans.

This week brought a new development via @DestinyTheGame‘s official Instagram feed. Xur, everyone’s favorite Agent of the Nine, left a brief message:

My will is not my own, Guardian. The Nine have commanded me to reveal Exotic treasures you may discover in your future. I will speak with you tomorrow. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

Xûr, Agent of the Nine is a vendor who sells exotic weapons, exotic armor, engrams, and consumables in exchange for Strange Coins and Motes of Light. His appearance on Instagram led people to speculate that he’d be teasing some Taken King exotics. Earlier today those speculations were realized when @thedestinygame posted three new exotic pieces of armor (one for each class) and 3 new exotic weapons. Check them out below:

The Gear

I have information, but I do not know yet if you are the one it is meant for… Titans: fly like the shadows with the Empyrean Bellicose. Aiming your weapons while in the air will hold you in place for a short time. Orbs collected when your Super is full will recharge your melee ability. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

Warlocks: reshape the world and turn iron to gold with the Alchemist’s Raiment. Collecting Primary Ammo will give you a chance to gain glimmer. Orbs collected when your Super is full recharge your grenades and melee. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

Hunters: these Sealed Ahamkara Grasps are filled with Nightmare Fuel. They will provide you with an additional melee charge and your melee damage will have a chance to reload your Primary Weapon. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

The Guns

You must adapt to persist, Guardian. The Chaperone Exotic shotgun fires a single slug shot and grants an Agility boost when equipped. Your precision kills will grant a brief increase to Handling, Range, Rate of Fire, and Stability. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

An end will come, Guardian. Bring it about sooner with Telesto, a vestige of the Queen’s Harbringers. This Fusion Rifle will attach projectiles to your foes and detonate with a delayed Void blast. Multikills with this weapon will drop Orbs for your allies. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

I cannot endure this place any longer… Before I depart, a final offer for you. Sleeper Simulant: a Fusion Rifle equipped in your Heavy Weapon slot. This weapon’s laser tears through enemies and ricochets on hard surfaces. – Xûr, Agent of the Nine

Bungie will be livestreaming tomorrow (August 26th) to showcase more of Destiny: The Taken King. More details on the expansion will be revealed including Oryx’s Dreadnought (the expansion’s new location), as well as a Strike against the Cabal.  Fans are also hopefully that more Destiny: Taken King exotics will be shown. The stream will be hosted by Bungie community manager Deej, joined by James Tsai (design lead) and community guest Mr. Fruit. Check out the Dreadnought trailer below and check back with TheGeeko.com tomorrow for highlights from the stream.

Destiny: The Taken King is out September 15, 2015 on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.  Let us know what do you think about the Taken King exotics in the comments section below.
