The BBC has reported that actress Maisi Williams (Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark) is set to appear in the new series of Doctor Who this autumn. Her part has not been announced yet but lead writer Stephen Moffet said that “She is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways”. He also suggested that her character might give The Doctor “the right sort of hell”.
Maisi broke into the geek scene in 2011 when Game of Thrones premiered. Her character, Arya Stark, has evolved over the years from a victim of circumstance to what looks to become a deadly foe to whoever may cross her. “I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town,” Maisie told the BBC.
Maisi and the Doctor will also be joined by Horrible Histories star Tom Stourton, who will be a guest cast member.
